Kenmore has a fresh (and fairly new!) pizza option for you, and we promise you won’t want miss out on this. Jay’s Artisan Pizzeria is serving up modern Neapolitan wood fired pizza, and we’re absolutely thrilled.

This pizza shop on Delaware Ave. started as a Buffalo food truck, dubbed O.G. Wood Fire. They won Buffalo Spree’s award in 2016 for Best Food Truck, and they took home another award for best thin crust, too. To say that Jay’s lives up to the food truck success is an understatement. From their mouth watering and creative wood fired pizzas, to their cool restaurant vibe, this can easily become one of your new favorite pizza joints.

The menu is full of pleasant surprises, like the Diavola, which has basil, hot soppressata, and chili. Or the Pancetta, with rosemary, red onion, Berkshire pancetta, and calabrian honey. Plus, they have small plates like marinated olives, prosciutto and mozzarella di bufala, and arugula salads.

Pro tip: the pizzas are best devoured on the spot. You can call in your order and pick it up to take home, but for optimal deliciousness and freshness, we recommend grabbing a seat to eat it right away.

Why We’re Raving

What sets Jay’s apart is a combination of innovative pizza toppings and a dedication to fresh, quality dough. Any Neapolitan pizza snob knows that the dough is one of the most important elements of the pizza. Every dough ingredient is carefully crafted and sourced, anywhere from 00 flour from Italy to the organic, hard red wheat from Washington state. These nutrient-filled ingredients actually help to make more digestible dough.

One of the other great things about Jay’s is that they have wine and craft beer, which is perfect if you’re looking for a casual and perfect date night spot.

Can’t decide between spicy and sweet? Order The Amanda. This pizza has crushed red pepper, gorgonzola, fontina, fresh mozzarella, pecorino, and calabrian chili honey. The pairing of cheeses and sweet honey will make this pizza melt in your mouth, and the crushed red pepper balances out the sweeter flavors.
