If you’re a dessert lover, you’re probably aware of places like Chocolate Bar, Poutine and Cream, Churn and Muscoreil’s. But what about the restaurants that are known for their food, but have to-die-for desserts?
Here are four restaurants we come to for the entrees, but stay for the dessert.
175 Allen St, Buffalo, New York
Did you know that ABV has a whole truffle dessert menu that is the perfect way to end your meal?! These chocolate covered ice cream desserts come in flavors like chocolate chip and peanut butter pecan, and they’re served with whipped cream to top it off.
And if you’re wondering how you can possibly save room for dessert after devouring your peanut butter burger, wings or hand-cut fries, keep in mind that these leftovers won’t melt when you put them in the fridge, and leave some of your dinner for tomorrow’s lunch!
437 Ellicott St, Buffalo, NY 14203
You love their buttermilk fried chicken and jambalaya, but have you ever stayed for their beignets and oooey goooey cake? Next time you’re at Toutant, be sure to treat yo’ self to something sweet, like the Warm Fudgy Brownie, which is so light but rich that it practically melts in your mouth! Plus, the 100 Proof Pie combines a few of your favorite things: pecans, toasted marshmallow mousse and bourbon.
Pair any dessert with one of their Southern-inspired cocktails and you’ll have yourself the perfect girl’s night out!
370 Virginia St, Buffalo, NY 14201
Betty’s is known for their vegan and gluten-free comfort food options, but if you haven’t tried any of their pies yet, you’re doing it wrong.
Their coconut cream and key lime pies are absolutely perfect in every way. The handmade whipped cream on the coconut cream tastes smooth and refreshing, helping to balance the sweetness from the coconut so that it’s never overpowering or too sweet.
They’re open early, so be sure to stop in and grab a slice while you sip on a cup of hot coffee to start your day.
581 Delaware Ave, Buffalo
Want to surprise a chocolate lover with something truly obsession worthy? Tempo is the place you’ll want to bring a date or friend who is absolutely crazy for decadent desserts.
The sour cream chocolate cake is creamy and rich with fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackberries displayed on the side. With the raspberry drizzle and house-made whipped cream, you really can’t go wrong as far as chocolate cake goes. The pistachio gelato is definitely a lighter option and favorite of ours; with the nuttiness of the biscotti it’s served with evening out the sweet pistachio and hardened fudge drizzle.
Plus while you order, don’t forget to ask for a wine or after-dinner cocktail recommendation!
Dessert lovers, we want to hear from you!
