More Than Brunch and Booze: Why MTK Needs to be the Top of Your List

Walk into MTK around happy hour and you won’t regret it. The bar is modern, decorated to induce a classy, laid-back vibe perfect for those who want to stop in and unwind with a couple of drinks after work. Stay for dinner, you can thank us later. The menu is expertly put together with options so delicious that it’s hard to choose from.

MTK is so much more than the late night party spot that it is perceived to be, there’s a whole other side to the bar filled with great happy hour specials and decadent food that Buffalo Dinner Club explored at our last event.

BDC diners mingled with cocktails, wine and beer as people filtered in after the day’s of activities. The bar area is set with a sleek, modern design that induces a classy, laid back atmosphere. Guests can choose to sit at the bar or mingle around the high-top tables. On a nice day, the small front patio is open to guests who want to sit and drink or eat and the bar area also has cozy booths for people who want to sit and enjoy the ambience.

While we were treated to special happy hour prices for our event, MTK has a board that shows the different happy hour specials featured on each day of the week as well as other drink promotions featured around the bar.

When it was time to sit down and eat, Owner Charlie Barone invited members into the dining area where he had arranged the tables into one, long family-style seating arrangement to encourage guests to chat with those around them while eating. The table was set with fresh flower centerpieces to add an extra pop of color, and windows lined one wall, overlooking the patio area and letting in natural light.

Chef Adrian Bylewski and his team whipped up dishes that tasted as good as they looked. While each guest perused the menu designed exclusively for the dinner, they sipped rosé, complements of Barone.

For the first two courses, diners chose between prosciutto melon salad or panzanella, and chicken roulade, swordfish or summer vegetable plate. To cap it all off, Bylewski served of  s’mores with milk chocolate ganache, torched marshmallow, marshmallow meringues and graham cracker crumble.

When the weather is nice, the restaurant opens its patio to guests. The space is lined with picnic tables and capped off with strings of Edison bulbs. It’s perfect for  sunny afternoon drinks or to listen to some local live music.

For those who stayed after the dinner Barone brought out grapefruit flavored shots, ready to transition into the late night vibe the club is known for.

One thing is for sure though, while you can catch the BDC staff at MTK on a Friday or Saturday night, we will definitely be back for dinner.
