Buffalonians Blending Burgers for James Beard Foundation

The team here at the Buffalo Dinner Club loves a good burger, and if you’re a Buffalo foodie like us, you may have noticed that new burgers have popped up on menus in restaurants around the city.

These additions are a part of the James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Project, which challenges restaurants to create a delicious burger using a patty made of at least 25% chopped mushroom along with protein. The result is a flavorful, nutritious burger that has a low environmental impact, making it a more sustainable option than traditional 100% beef patties.

The foundation encourages diners to try different restaurants’ blended burger creations and vote for their favorite online.  The 5 chefs with the most votes nationwide will win a trip to the historic James Beard House in New York City in order to showcase their burgers at a 2018 event.

As if getting your favorite Buffalo chef to rep the city isn’t enough, everyone who votes will also be entered to win an expenses paid trip for two to this blended burger event in NYC.

If you’re as ready as we are to sample some flavor-filled burgers, don’t forget to do it before the end of the month as the competition closes on July 31.
